Achray/Bracklinn

ACHRAY

56. 233° N, 4.385° W

You stand where the forest meets a mirror. Loch Achray rests quietly in the shadow of the great peaks, its waters famously still, capturing perfect reflections of the sky, the changing leaves, and the craggy heights of Ben A’an above. Its name, derived from the Gaelic Innis Riachach, speaks to a “dappled place”—a testament to the shifting patterns of light and shadow that dance across this glen.
For generations, this serene water has captivated minds; it was here that the legendary Scott, Wordsworth, and Coleridge found their romantic inspiration. As you look out over the calm expanse, the modern world feels beautifully distant. You are invited simply to pause, breathe the crisp woodland air, and lose yourself in the stillness of the Trossachs.

BRACKLINN

56.252° N, 4.207° W

You hear it before you see it—the rush of water echoing through the wooded gorge. Bracklinn Falls pours endlessly over ancient rock, shaped over thousands of years at the Highland Boundary Fault. As you stand here, the air feels different—cool, charged, alive. In Celtic tradition, places like this were called “thin places,” where the veil between the physical and the unseen world draws close. Whether you believe or not, it is hard not to feel something stir as the water crashes below.

Ledi/Venachar

LEDI

56.251° N, 4.281° W

You climb into a landscape shaped over millions of years, where ancient rock rises towards the sky. As the view opens around you, the world feels vast—lochs, forests, and distant hills unfolding in every direction. Traditionally known as the “Hill of God” or the hill of light, Ben Ledi has long carried a quiet sense of reverence, used for ancient Beltane fires to welcome the summer. Standing here, you understand why. There is a presence in the openness, a connection between earth and sky.

VENACHAR

56.247° N, 4.243° W

You stand at the edge of still water, where the loch reflects the sky in perfect calm. Formed by retreating glaciers, it holds both depth and silence, once immortalized in the romantic poetry of Sir Walter Scott. There is a timeless quality here—the kind that invites reflection and quiet thought. In stories, these waters held mysteries beneath their surface, and as you look out across the expanse, it is easy to imagine. You are part of the landscape now, woven into its calm.

Studios

We also offer 3 en-suite twin/double studios, Coilhallan, Dunmore and Gullipen.

Each studio has its own entrance, is en-suite with a wee patio to the rear. The kitchenette is equipped with mini sink and drainer, mini fridge, kettle, toaster, single induction hob, crockery, cutlery, and air-fryer.

Coilhallan

56.237° N, 4.218° W

You walk beside the gentle flow of the River Teith, its waters winding through woodland rooted in the legacy of retreating ice. The ground beneath you was shaped long before memory, yet it feels deeply familiar. In Highland tradition, rivers were living things—respected, even feared. It is easy to imagine what might lie beneath the calm surface, in the deeper pools where stories of the Each-Uisge—the fierce water horses—once lingered. Here, you are part of that quiet exchange between land, water, and time.

Dunmore

56.245° N, 4.249° W

You stand upon a commanding height, where the ancient stone ramparts of Dunmore Hill Fort rest quietly under a blanket of moss and heather. Built over two millennia ago during the Iron Age, this rugged Pictish stronghold once guarded the vital passes cutting into the Highlands. To your east, the terrain drops steeply away in a dramatic, natural precipice, while to the west, layers of defensive earthworks still speak to a time of chieftains, watchfires, and deep territory. Up here, where the wind flows freely across the Trossachs landscape, you walk the footprint of an ancient fortress, woven directly into the living memory of the hills.

Gullipen

56.230° N, 4.230° W

You find yourself in a quieter corner, where a small burn winds through a hidden glen. The trees close in gently, and the world seems to soften around you. This is the kind of place that has always invited stories—of the Sìthean, the hidden fairy folk, watchful and just out of sight. Travellers once passed nearby on old drove roads, but here, in the stillness, you feel removed from time. It asks only that you slow down… and listen.
